I met someone online and we have shared a couple of emails. I am not married yet nor have I had children yet. Kelly said she was married and had children and said in one email she had been busy "being a mother and a wife" that week. I can understand being busy being a mother but what does a wife do that takes up so much time?????????? (Seriously.)

Being a mother and a wife makes sense to me, you understand the mothering part, but not the wife part. My typical day revolves around my family, including my partner, making sure he gets off to work on time, and that he takes some lunch, and hunting round the house for hidden socks and crumpled up shirts. Sometimes it is going to the dry cleaners for him, or to repco, or ringing people or picking him up if he doesn't want to get the train. Sometimes being a wife can feel like you have an extra child.

A wife cooks, cleans, does the laundry, pays the bills, grocery shops, washes the dishes. Being a wife and mother is like having a job that you never get to leave. Being a mother takes up a lot of time and does not leave much time for anything else.

Youre kidding right? It is obvious you are not married or have children to ask such a question. All I can say is wait until you have those kind of responsibilities and you will be wondering where you get the time to write even one email. You need to go there to understand the demands a husband and family places on a woman.

Cleans the house, does the laundry, buys the groceries, cooks dinner, washes the dishes, pays the bills, services the man, takes out the trash, does the taxes, works 40 hours a week at an outside job..........

If she is a stay at home mom/wife, then she is busy cooking, cleaning, doing laundry, running errands and taking care of the kids. And trying to find time to be alone with her husband, after doing everything else. It is easier when you only have your self to worry about.

Maybe she takes the time to be attentive to her husband....as well as taking care of the kids and the household....geeeee if you think that a wife does nothing...then perhaps you better not ever marry.

The wife to-do list includes all sorts of things, but a lot of it is just giving Hubby your time and attention, going places and doing things with him. A good marriage needs nurturing and lots of TLC :-D

A wife is there for the husband any time that he needs her...such as cooking for him, keeping the house clean, and making him feel good about himself.

We have to get ready, get the kids ready, take them to school or daycare, go to work, pick them up, errands, practice, dinner, help with homework, bathtime, story time, bedtime and that is not including taking care of hubby!!! That is a good day for me...
