Spend more time outside. Shoot hoops, play catch, kick a soccer ball around. Either that or read.. .a lot.

That happened December 2006 when I still lived in WA, we had a Snowstorm and more than a Million people were without power for almost an entire week! It was cold and SUCKED big time. The kids didn`t mind it so much during the day time because we read books, played lots of games plus they had their little battery operated toys (V-Smile Pocket, Leap pad)

I would be a very happy camper. If the night was clear and moon on the crescent side , I would bring my telescope out. Otherwise I would light a candle and pour some soda and drop a mentos in It and watch the fireworks. Outside of course. I am no fool.

Back at home, the house runs on solar power, so we don't lose power when everyone else does. Here in my rental place, I guess I'd do my usual thing (sans Internet), but go to bed earlier.

Probably spend lot of time outside and in the evening read with a candle or battery operated light.

Additional Details: whenever we have storms my power is constantly out so I am jamming & visiting friends here in Mn.

I would more than likley deplete my car battery using the light to read mags or watch dvd with my portable DVD player.
