Yes you can this is both legal and okay .. it is called a pen name or a pseudonym. Totally legal just as some actors or singers have stage names.

You may write under any name you wish. When you enter into a contract with a publisher, that is all taken care of. Pax - C

George Orwell and the Yorkshire vet who wrote "All things Great and Small" did it, so you're in good company.

Just tell your publisher you want to use a pen name. Don't pick "Stuart Kings" or people will know it's a fake.

Mark Twain's real name was Samuel Clemens. It's called a pseudonym. Just pick one, use it and agree with the publisher that you'll be paid under your real name.

it's called a pen name people who write stories ie books sometimes write under a different name it's very common.
