What does his grandfather being a Nazi supporter (if he even was I have not seen the evidence of it) have to do with anything. I am not a supporter of Bush but doesn't attacking his grand fahter seem cheap even for a liberal?

The only people whose past are relevant at this particular time are the two in charge of this country presently. Those two people would be George W. Bush and Dick Cheney.

Past politics play a major part in the events that are occurring today.

For instance, do you really think that the president went into Iraq with no plans at all? After all, he is a republican. Republicans are dedicated to big business and big businesses got big by PLANNING.

When a business plans for their future successes they do it in private. Only a few key board members are allowed in such meetings such as the president, vice-president, economic adviser, strategic advisers, etc.

Running a country is a big endeavor and it would be somewhat difficult for ONE MAN to walk into the office of President and simply run the country. Too many plans have already been placed in progress (such as ousting Saddam) for one man to think he can just walk in an shelf every idea that is not in his liking and initiate his own plans without a lot of history, a lot of background into what has already been established, and a lot of foreknowledge of key plans.

George Bush has this history, this background and foreknowledge as his family has been in politics (many years at the top) such as George Bush, Sr. was vice-president from 1981 thru 1989, then president from 1989 thru 1993. His grandfather, Prescott Bush was a senator and had many ties to major banks and corporations.

This family is deeply embedded in politics, corporations, and banks. Being deeply embedded in such things means to keep control of them you must teach your children and teach them well so that they too can control your interest thereby assuring that all future generations in your family remain in control.

Prescott Bush has quite a colorful history and his history plays deeply in what is occurring today.

Just take a look, if nothing more you will find his life quite interesting.

Then you might want to read about the Bush Family and their values. Another interesting read. If anything, these articles will give you a greater appreciation for history and for historians. School textbooks today are often limited in what they can put in them so we tend to get only a small explanation of history. The Internet is full of the history that we missed.

I look at it this way... It would be different if he was a distant relative or his grandfathers father but many grandfathers have a huge impact on there grandchildren. I know my grandfather did. My grandfather was kind to every one and I always admired him.
Bush's grandfather was only a war profiteer. He made no political side with the Nazis. I guess like grandfather like grandson. Bush is making profits off the invasion in Iraq.
Do you see my point.
I just think people should know. What they do with the knowledge is up to them.
Truth is truth the bottom line is money we all know the Bush family will do what they can to make more even if they tear the world apart, but this is old news.
Also we never needed his grandfathers history to know what Bush is about and what he is trying to do.

1. The reason ‘people keep bringing Bush’s family history into the argument’ is because the past is relevant, and the past is prologue. By the way, the so-called “liberal media” doesn’t seem willing to cover this story in any meaningful way, if at all.
2. Just because you haven’t seen the overwhelming and damning evidence, doesn’t mean that it does not exist.
3. Being convicted under US law for aiding the enemy in time of war, being a traitor, is hardly a cheap shot, even for a so-called ‘conservative.’
4. Your question reeks of bias, and is cheap, but not for the ‘conservative’ or the un-principled and self-righteous.
5. Crimes of others do not lessen the crimes of one. If you find Bush’s background irrelevant, there are plenty of crimes he himself has committed that should anger every American worthy of the name.

A question for the ages.

We were not and still are not allowed to mention that Clinton was a draft dodger.

If you mention the fact that Al Gore's father voted against civil rights for blacks you immediately told that it doesn't matter because that was his father and not him.

Oh, and God help you if you bring up Ted Kennedy's past "incidents" with women, booze, cars and water.

The list goes on, but the point is that with liberals the old saying "do as I say, not as I do" definitely applies.

I don't get it, either - I'm sure we all have someone in our family trees that we'd rather not associate with...it's ridiculous to hold someone responsible for things even their *parents* did. How many kids do *you* know who can tell their parents what to do?

It's just an example of how deep their hatred runs. It's sad, really - "Hatred corrodes the vessel in which it is stored.”

Ted Kennedy's father was a Hitler appeaser. FDR canned him as Ambassador to Great Britain. I notice the left always omit that one,

They pass these beliefs on to their offspring like heirlooms!
