My son will turn to be 1 on 24th. I ve started sending him to a daycare from last 20 days as i've to join my job on 10th. Initially for 2 days he cried and then he was fine but then he dint go for a week bcoz of cold n fever now he again cried for 2 days when he goes but today it was a lil better. I'm just confused am I doing right???? Will sending my son to a day care will ruin his growth??? I'll be going at 6 in the morning, then my husband will prepare him for going to daycare, hell go at 8:45 and tthen will come at 3:30 in the afternoon. Will he be fine there? or even if I leave my job will he be happy living with me all the day alone as we are a nuclear family? when he is home also, he wants to go outside??? Dont know am I doing right for my child??

He's just getting used to being around other kids and being away from you, it's good for him, he will learn you can't be there every second of the day

There's a huge debate about child care. I would look at how much you are making versus how much it is costing to put him in child care. Do you really need the money? If you make $100 a week (just as an example), but child care costs you $50, and getting to and from work is another $10, and taxes are $20, you're not really making enough to justify it. But, if you need the money, then yes, your son can succeed in child care. He'll socialize with other kids and learn to be independent. So, don't worry about it. And of course he wants to go outside, that's fine, it shouldn't be a problem. Kids like to explore, they like different places.

I work in a daycare and have worked with children your sons age for over two years. It is normal for children to cry when they first start daycare With him being sick for a week and then starting back to school it was like starting all over again. He will do fine and you are not going to ruin his growth by sending him to daycare. I have had many children who started like your son and now walk in smiling and say bye to mom or dad and start playing with no tears at all. Children are also very good at playing their parents some will cry until they no longer see mom or dad and then they are ready to play. Give it some time he will do fine.
