I guess it would depend on what "IT" is and if there are any strings attached to the "FREE" - I don't want to have to fill out a million forms saying "no thanks" just to get to the end to find out I "have to purchase" something expensive to "try" something for "free" for any number of days.

Depends on the situation.
I mark on my calendar the day when anything needs to be return.
Now if they ask for my credit card or any personal information about me, then no. Otherwise, sure.
