Normally we would only peed in bed when we were little. But then when I was in high school, 14-15 years old, I started to pee in bed a few time (well not every night, its more like twice a year - but still weird) and then I stopped, I would woke up and go to the toilet myself. But just recently, I peed twice in two weeks! I had a dream that I went to the toilet but end up I was peeing in bed! No one knows about this, I'm too embarrassed to tell my mom. But do you think I have some kind of a psychological problem? Cause I heard a few times and read a few article that if we peed in bed after the age of 8, then it's not normal and it could be associated with a psychological problem. Well, I live a normal life, my parents loved me, and I'm happy with my life - so I don't think I have that problem. Whats wrong with me?! Have anyone of you experience this?

i have done that a couple times when i was really tired or stressed, its like going to the toilet in your dream is your subconscious telling you to wake up but you are too tired so you go even though you are still asleep.
just maybe dont drink alot before bed and go potty before bed.

You were extremely tired. Your body gave you it's wake up message -- the dream you were in the bathroom -- but you didn't wake up to deal with it. Accidents happen.
Notice the dreams. Think about them. What's normal and what's out of place in them? When I get those dreams, I'm in a bathroom, but something isn't right, so I can't relax to take care of business. Maybe the door is open. Or someone is standing outside. That's the part that's making me hold back. When I finally caught on (about age 10) what this dream was telling me, I learned to wake myself up and trot down the hall.
If that's not your situation, look at what's changed in your life. My son was a bed-wetter for a long time. So was my nephew and even my mom. We found out the entire family has milk allergies. All of our bed-wetters were big milk drinkers. Cut out the milk and they could get a handle on other issues. Have you been eating something new that would trigger this problem?
If neither of these suggestions seem to fit your situation, then do go see your doctor. You might have a bladder infection or something that is causing the problem.

It is unusual if you are 21. But you should not be embarrassed. And, most likely since you are 21, it is not a psychological problem. Even in young children it has often been found that it is not psychological, but physical. You may have a bladder infection, an overactive bladder or bladder muscles that have a problem. Tell your mom, I bet she would be concerned enough to get you to a doctor, and not make you feel bad or embarrassed. It may be able to be treated very quickly and you won't have to worry about it. But continuing to worry all the time could cause many other problems and you don't want that. Talk to her!

There are many reasons that people have incontinence while they sleep. It might be a physical problem, such as spasms of the bladder or a weakness in the muscles around your urethra that has not been detected. You might need to be evaluated by a urologist. A lot of people have dreams associated with urinating, but a common scenario is not being able to find a bathroom; they wake up and go to relieve themselves. Your ability to regulate this might not work. Do not beat yourself up about this....just ask your mom to take you to your doctor so you can find out about what could be going on and your options. Good luck.

I have known people who have done that as adults. I've come close, but haven't done it. I don't think you have a psychological problem. You probably sleep really deeply and don't wake up very easily. Do you take sleeping pills? That might make it difficult to wake up and go pee in the middle of the night. One suggestion I have for you is don't drink anything within a few hours of bedtime. You can also try setting an alarm for sometime in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom. In time I think your body will get you up on your own.

What you have experienced is not so abnormal.
This can happen to anyone at one time or another.
It can be that you are sleeping so heavily on occasion to cause this.
You may experience urinary tract infections, or other illness.
Trauma, stress, or upsetness can be behind this.
If this involuntary urination during sleep occurs only 2 times a year, I wouldn't worry about it.

There's probably nothing wrong with you. Just try to go to bed with a less full bladder. Stop drinking anything for like an hour or two before you go to sleep.
hope you're okay.
