Thats the beauty of potluck, YOU don't have to make anything that will feed 100 people. You make a nice dish for about 10-20 people. Remember, everyone is bringing a dish. If each one brought enough to feed 100, you would have enough food to feed 1000 people. I have been to potluck picnics that served well over 100 and it works just fine. Some potlucks are organized. So many people are asked to make a maindish item, some are asked to bring side dish item, some a salad item, some bread and rolls, some beverages, some asked to bring desserts. If 5 people bring a hot dish or salad enough for 20 you have enough for 100. Its not as complicated as you think. Make something you already know how to make and can make well. Bringing a dish to share is not the time to try a new recipe, thats the time to break out your tried and true recipes.

I make my own salad, but I know a lot of people bring KFC. Goes so well with the variety of dishes people bring. Good luck and have fun!

I avoid them like a bad monkey. I can't afford to feed myself most of the time. Why should I feed someone else?
