I think it is easiest when you are sitting on the toilet. Put it in your vagina and tilt it slightly backwards. Then using the applicator push it inside of you. The string should be hanging out. Do not leave a tampon in very long- no more than 4 or 5 hours! It can make you very sick. When it is time pull the string and it will come out. Flush it.
IF you pull the string early it might be a little dry and not come out easily. That is okay. It wont hurt you.

I like the plastic applicators, not cardboard.

They're not hard to insert if you get the angle right. That does take practice, though. One you've learned this, putting in tampons is very easy.

It should have come with a little booklet that has pictures.
Dont worry they cant get lost in there - "in there" is only about a finger long. No kidding, thats why tampons are only that long.

Try sliding it while laying down, I´ve read in several question right here that it has worked for many. On my behalf my best advice is RELAX it makes it easier!!

You should ask your mom this. There is this book called American "Just About you( i think) that tells you how.
