This is the best I could do. Hope it helps.
not give a monkey's (British & Australian, informal)
if you do not give a monkey's about something, you do not care about it at all. She couldn't give a monkey's if everyone's talking about her. I don't give a monkey's how much he earns, I just don't like him.

That part of the monkey has no value Therefore it is worth nothing so it is easy to part with it.
Tinkers' cuss is probably the oldest followed by monkey's toss, which I think started as a sailor's expression.
: : The coarse version - "I don't give a monkey's toss" (i.e. the ejaculate of a monkey has no value) was sanitised to the other versions in particular "uncle" and as it was widely understood just "a monkey's" which is the essence of the phrase. I think MT had currency for a long while, but more recently the shortened version has been more popular vernacular.

I don't think I have ever heard the phrase before, but it may be aligned with the phrase "cold enough to freeze the balls off a brass monkey". This comes from the napolean navy - where cannonballs were stored in pyramid forms ondeck. the base of this pyramid was a brass frame with holes to hold the iron cannonballs. however, when it became extremely cold, the brass would contract, spilling the cannonballs across the deck... therefore freezing the balls off the brass monkey... does it help any?
