Recently after I got home from work early, I walked into my daughters room to see if she was home yet, and I saw her and my son engaging in sexual intercourse. I quickly stopped them and sent them to their rooms, but how am I supposed to talk to them about this? She is 16 and he is 15 by the way. Sorry if the subject matter is abit disturbing but I have never dealt with anything like this before and really need some advice. Thanks

They need to know the consequences of their behavior, consensual or not. And how not to get pregnant (worst case, not because of any danger of a birth defect, but just because of there being a baby).

Apparently the sibling bonding mechanism isn't working. It happens sometimes, and it isn't the end of the world (despite some hysterical reactions here), but they need to know that no matter how good it feels, or how convenient it is, it's not appropriate, and why.

The reality is that you may not be able to stop them (like talking the genie into going back into the bottle), but you can take measures to make it less convenient and at least be sure that there's little chance of a baby resulting.

Believe it or not, there are worse things. Good luck.

You need to find out if there was consent, or if one of them was being molested. Either way, you really need a family counselor to work through this. Perhaps if it's too embarrassing for them, have each go to a separate counelor. You really need more help than anyone can give you on Yahoo.

First, you have to talk to them.
Sit them down and tell them that is not tolerable and why. (It causes babies with genetic problems, it is taboo in nearly all cultures, also if one is considerably stronger than the other--physically or psychologically-- it may.be molestation.)
Then they can not be alone together. Ever. You must have someone to supervise them all the time.
If it is financially feasable, I would send them to seperate boarding schools for a year.

I would talk to them both alone and get both there stories, the confront them together, then send them to some serious counceling.
