Hi!
If a guy walks up to you, completely randomly (no previous introduction, acquaintance) and says "Hey! What high school do you go to?" is that considered 'flirting'? or is it just friendly interest?

It might be everything.....that's why it's not a good idea to make assumptions without knowing the truth.....

I can assume that he might have seen you somewhere that's why he asked you that question

Well, since you asked...for a normal guy talking to a normal girl, flirting and friendly interest are the same thing. For a girl who has been watching too much MTV, flirting and "suggestive" behavior are the same thing.

If he just randomly asked that...probably he liked you. And needed something to start a conversation with. Thats kind of random to want to know what HS you go to out of the blue. Unless he was conducting a survey or something.

Frankly, I will tell you that guys are never just 'friendly' -- they're always cruising. So, yes, that's flirting. If you're interested, talk to him. If you're not, just leave. If he is some old guy, he's cruising for under-age chicks, and you should run.
