It's perfectly fine! It means he's eating healthy! When he's constipated, that's when you worry! But it'll pass and he'll poop less as he gets older. No worries!

My son is/was the same way. I was totally looking forward to the stage at 4-6 weeks when they say that MOST breastfeeding babies will start going 3-5 days between poops. No such luck here - my son still poops at least 2 times a day at 16 weeks. Not to worry doc said - every baby is different.

My son was the same, then all the sudden he went two days w/o poo and I thought he was constipated. But it is also normal to go that long. He now goes once every day he is 5 mos. The constant poo stopped when he was about 6 weeks old, then the every other day till just a couple weeks ago.

My bf'ed daughter pooped EVERY time she ate (plus a couple extra for good measure) for several months. It would go up her back, sometimes all the way up to her neck. GROSS! *lol*
Yeah, so it's normal :)
If you haven't checked it out yet, take a look at http://www.kellymom.com It is hands-down the very best, most informative bf'ing site out there. Tons of info on literally any bf'ing question you may have.

I have breastfed all 4 of my daughters, and they all had alot of bowel movements. Sounds like he's getting enough nutrition! I wouldn't worry too much about it....though I'd ask his doctor just to make sure everything is sound.
*Congrats on the new baby!*

I was told when I chose to breastfeed that ANY number of poops per day was fine. Don't worry, mom, and keep the DipeNWipes close by!

Yes that was my experience. Sometimes there was so much the diaper couldn't hold it all, and it ended up in the toes of her sleepers. The one thing I was grateful for was there wasn't as much odor as with my first daughter who had to be bottle fed.

What do you expect of the male child, he hasn't taken a dump in nine months. He's just making up for lost time and getting you used to what to expect for the next 18-20 years.

as long as the stools appear normal, and he acts/appears healthy < breast milk stools are of course different than formula stools > i wouldnt be concerned.
its not abnormal to have a lot of BMs from a nursing newborn. their body is still adjusting to digesting and such.
one thing to keep in mind is they eat what you eat. so you could try changing your diet a little and see if that changes things.
