This is driving me crazy! I have a Dell laptop with Wi-fi running Vista and a desktop running XP. I hooked up a wireless router and I am able to share my internet connection no problem. However, I am at a loss on how to set it all up to be able to share files between the two computers. They are not seeing each other. Any direction would be appreciated. Thanks!

There are a lot of things that could cause that, but the most likely is firewall settings. On each computer, tell the firewall software that the IP addresses assigned by the router are your local network.

(If you're lucky, the software has a setting to detect the local network.)

I understand your problem. You firstly have to choose to share any of file to network, and you should be able to share and transfer files between the two computers. You also can share file by using 'sharing and security'.Follow this step. My computer>press any folder you want to share>right click. That's all.
