It is still a great country in spite of everything (especially corruptions.) Yeah, aside from traveling to the 7,107 islands in the Philippines you will experience the unique charm of my historic land. People are naturally warm, friendly and hospitable.
My country is rich in culture & history, then you will discover more pristine white beaches, rain forests, mangroves, corals, marine sanctuaries & so much more. Then the Philippines is the world's third largest English-speaking country after the UK & the US then Philippines is the largest Christian country in Asia.... <*-*>

It is my Home Sweet Home........ I love it there I am very glad that I got to grow up there cuz it gives me a different view on life than what I would have gotten growing up in the states...... I am a Filipino and Im proud to be one...... I say that cuz americans sometimes take things for granted like a washing machine, stove, and a lot of other stuff...... But in the philippines those things are stuff that the average Filipino does not have and would be lucky to have...... I would suggest that americans would at least go to a third world country and live there for awhile so that they can have a greater apprecitation for the things that they have...... The philippines is a great place to go and have a vacation and I Love It...... My Gf lives there and I am glad that I have a filipina for a girlfriend....... The Philippines is the Best....... Hope this answers your question......

When I was in the Air Force i got a really bad impression of the Philippines. It seemed like the women would want to sleep w/ a guy and get pregnant if possible so he would have to support her and her gigantic family. 'Man Trap!' Since I've been a civilian I've actually learned a lot and have a much better opinion of the islands now.

Although overlooked by the world, the Philippines is still cheap and cheerful...
Philippines has quite have a bad image for other foreign countries, because of poverty, corruption, and the war in Mindanao...
In spite of that, people are friendly and very hospitable... English is widely spoken... Christianity is the dominant religion, mostly are Catholics... tons of gorgeous resorts and beaches, natural wonders, lots of great places, etc... Westernized, and mega-diverse society... Thousands of fiestas, and festivals...
so, what do I think...??? It's a great country!!!

It is one of the largest populations that speak English in the world and one of the poorest. Democracy hasn't improved the lot of those people, most of whom are dependent upon remittance from relatives working overseas. The entire country is Catholic yet try and find a family that owns a bible. A majority of the children drop out of school by 4th grade. Much needs to be done to improve the lives of Filipinos.

My God, can you please explain in what context you want us to answer?
Well, I do not think about the Philippines like it is something I must think about, I live here. I think about what is happening, and how I can be good to my country, as a matter of course. On default that is my mindset.

I liked it when I was not living here....
I liked it less now that I am living here.....
Poor etiquettes generally and even amongst the more affluent.
Lack of public health and public health education.
Poor/no law enforcement.
Manila traffic jams are caused by poor control of surplus jeepneys and public transports.
Lip service generally and nothing gets done.

If you have heaps of money its a great place to have a lot of fun. The people are nice to but you have to get used to their ways as Filipino people are very complicated.
