I think if you can do the do then you can take care of what comes from it. I think it is such a coward to get pregnant and then rip the baby apart because you're irresponsible! If you don't want it then give the baby up for adoption to someone who can't have kids I mean keep your legs close if you dont want anything to come out of them. How would you feel if your mom told you she was going to have a abortion when she found out you were pregnant and you wouldn't have had a chance to live the wonderful sometimes tragic life you have. It's sad and it's murder no matter how you look at it you're taking someone life away and you're not GOD so that's not you job!

I am pro-life. I also believe it makes perfect sense to end a pregnancy if it causes imminent mortal danger to the woman. In cases of rape, emergency contraception is an excellent idea. In cases of incest, many girls/young women are coerced by the abuser to have an abortion. This removes the evidence against him, frees him to continue the abuse and prevents people from becoming suspicious when she starts "showing". Incest/chronic child rape often ends when there is a pregnancy. Abortion allows the abuse to continue. Women deserve better than abortion. In all cases. A very small number of very sad extreme cases do not justify abortion on demand laws that we have now. Less than 1% of abortions are performed on women impregnated by these extreme circumstances. More than half of all women impregnated by rape or incest choose to keep the baby. I wish people would stop letting the "extreme case" arguments from the pro-choice side make them ignore how inherently wrong abortion really is. It is a baby.

I am pro-life. Ultimately, the reason is because I don't believe my mother should have had the right to end her pregnancy with me or my sister if she'd wanted to. Nor do I believe my friends' mothers should have had the right, nor my other family members' mothers.
We can argue back and forth about 'human' (what, like it's a fish before it becomes human?) or other technicalities, but what it boils down to is that the only way for me to have become me is from that particular pregnancy and I don't believe my mother should have had the right to end my life before I was born. Nor do I believe your mother should have had the right, either.
ADDED: In response to your addition, it's probably clear from above that I believe we are human as soon as we are conceived. It's the human life cycle, from conception to death. We wouldn't pretend that a fertilized frog egg is anything other than frog life or anything else; a fertilized human egg can only be human.

I do not believe in punishing an innocent baby for the mistakes (or even crimes in some cases) of the parents. Abortion has become so acceptable that it is being used as birth control... not simply in the questionable cases (yes, my heart goes out to the women, but it is still no reason to take the life of the child... he/she did nothing wrong!) of rape etc.
"We are all endowed with certain inalienable rights, among these are Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.." I believe that our forefathers put those rights in order of importance. Therefore a woman's right to the Pursuit of Happiness does *NOT* preclude the baby's right to LIVE.
For a *majority* of women who abort, I say this... You made your bed, now lay in it. If you don't want the child... there is someone out there who desperately does... give both the chance at happiness, and next time consider the inevitable results of the actions you take.
As far as "back-alley" abortions are concerned... the increase in teenage pregnencies coincides with the legalization of abortion... in other words, because the risk of *having* to carry a baby to term was eliminated, more girls chose not to wait. I have to believe that the oppisite would also be true... make it illegal, and girls will wise up and not take chances.
Note that there is not a single religious argument in here. Science has already determined that the brain and heart are developed before most pregnancies are even detected. Babies are surviving younger and younger premature births (ie the baby girl in FL at the beginning of this year... born before her 28th week, I believe) The excuses for these murders are running out... and science is aiding their destruction.

We are human from our conception, and entitled to all the same rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

I'm pro choice, but I could never get an abortion. I believe any child of mine deserves a chance at life, no matter what. I also know not everyone feels the same, so they should be allowed to do as they choose. While I would advise a woman who has an unwanted pregnancy to consider adoption, there's just no getting through to some people. I guess it would be better to terminate the pregnancy early than have a poor, defenseless newborn thrown in a dumpster.

I don't think that people should keep posting questions about abortion in the pregnancy category. There are so many women on here trying to conceive! and so many women that cannot have children - I don't think they should continually have to read questions about ABORTION.
Next time try POLLS & SURVEYS .. that's what it's there for!

Pro choice...
I think that if it is done away with, on our income taxes there should be a box you can check to say if you are pro choice or pro life. Those who pick pro life get to flip the bill for all of the results from the unwanted pregnancies.... Bet there would be a catastrophic drop in the Pro life numbers!

Pro-choice.
Of course this is controversial, but if you know you can't take care of a baby, or you don't want it, then it's best for everyone to have an abortion. Though putting it up for adoption is always an option, you will never know if it will have nice life or get adopted by nice people.

i'm definitely pro choice because a baby is better off to never be born than to be born to parents that don't even want it. by the way you will always get hot heads with this question...its unavoidable
