Including someone as close as your mom or sister? You find out stuff you never knew AFTER they die.

You are right; that does happen. Thankfully though I haven't found anything out about my parents since they have died. I would hate to find out that I had another sister or brother out there somewhere.
I am guessing people don't mind talking trash about someone after he or she dies.

Well families usually have a lot of hidden secrets. That they do not want anyone else to know about. Like I did not find out until after my Dad's death that he was married before. An I have a step brother out there some where.

Because people are respectful of keeping secrets and personal business private. After they are dead there is no reason to hold back any longer.

when someone dies that when all the things they were hiding are brought out from the people they promised never to tell or you might be going thru their stuff an find things they never talked about,

They are no longer around so people feel more free to speak behinf their backs. When my grandpa died, my grandma decided it was time to tell the world he was mean, and that she didn't love him. i don't know why people do that. Let the dead rest in peace
