There is a variety of things that this could be . It could be that you are opening way to many applications at once or it could be you have virsus ad ware etc. I need more information on what you are doing when it freezes up . One thing that doe seem to happen alot with dells is that they don't have enough memory . They give you all the power but don't give you enough memory i would upgrade to 1 gig if that is not what you have already . Best of luck But one thing that is sure to boost performance is to disk defragmrnt your drive. Basically it organizes the drive in such a way it is easier to access the information .

You might want to check the amount of memory the computer has. This is a particular problem with Dells. They seem to need more horsepower to do some jobs, and you'll need to order the chips from them or send the computer to them to have it upgraded.

Good luck.

Go to Start and Run. Type in "msconfig" and go to Start Up and uncheck all box except popular antivirus and firewall.

Restart.

Go and download Spy Bot search and Destroy then AVG antivirus.
