I always hear "I experimented with girls in college" or i just "experimented" in general. I've been confused about being straight/bisexual/gay lately and I just have this idea in my head that once i get to college everything will make sense. I'll "experiment" and i'll be able to fill in all the answers to all my un-answered questions i have. i dk i just have this idea that college will make everything better because right now its way to hard.
There isnt anyone that i know that i can talk to about what i feel, being bisexual and whatnot, and no one knows that i am. So, i cant be open with my feelings and explore. Thats another thing, everyone always says to teenagers like me, "dont lable yourself yet, just explore your feelings" and i cant just go around and do that.
hmm ok so that wasnt much of a question. I guess what im trying to get at is, how do you go about "exploring" your feelings when you cant tell anyone and you dont know anyone like you?
im 16 by the way...

Well... If you go away to college, you won't be living at home. So all of the people that you know and who know you won't be around you on a regular basis. So you can feel more free to be yourself or experiment with who you are. You won't have the pressure of being judged by anyone that already knows you. Everyone you meet will be new and so you'll be like a blank slate to them.
Also at college, it's a bunch of "kids" partying and being crazy all the time. So you're in a prime life-situation to do "crazy" things without it seeming like you're weird or anything because everyone is being crazy.
And there's an almost total lack of supervision. So you can do whatever you want and go where ever you want whenever you want with who ever you want and there's no one that you have to answer to.
All of those reasons are why college is the time to experiment in all kinds of ways. (So long as you actually go AWAY to college.) If you go to a local college and stay living at home, you'll miss out on everything but the actual academic learning.
I hope I helped.

Two years of confusion will suck :(
Here is what i suggest. Do you have a GSA at your school? If so, join. If not, use google to find a Gay Youth Group in your area. When you become a part of a gay community, you have soemoen to tlak about your feelings, where you can say 'I'm questining" and everyone will accept it becuase they've been there too, and where you can meet a girl, kiss a girl, and she'll completely understand if you decide it isn't your thing.
and yea, college is a good place. Pick a liberal college, or jsut a bigher one, and I am sure there will be a GLBTQA student group that youc an join, and find a gay community. Good luck finding some friendly homos!

I'd say that refering college as a "time for experimentation" a fair statement. I knew at a young age that I liked girls. I thought maybe it was a phase or just curiosity to begin with. It wasn't until college that I put the feelings that I was experiencing & the curiosity I was experiencing into action. I realized that I wasn't going through a phase. I realized that my attraction & feelings for women were honest & sincere. It felt natural, & normal. I was able to come to terms with my sexuality & accept it. I had some amazing relationships with other women that I wouldn't trade for anything.
I think one thing that made it easier was being away from home. Being away from the community & schools I grew up in. In fact, I felt........free. Nobody seemed to care about that sort of stuff. Everybody in college did their own thing.
As far as being 16, and feeling trapped & not being able to tell anyone or knowing anyone like you, I know exactly how you feel. I honestly don't know what to tell you to do because I didn't know what to do then either. I was in the same boat. That's why I waited until I was in college where I felt safe to finally take the plunge. It was worth the wait. If you do wait, depending on what college you got to, join up with a gay/lesbian/bisexual student organization on campus. You will meet all kinds of people just like you who feel & have felt the way you do.

great question!, that i even have not got an answer for. There are some great rock songs obtainable that have little or no interior the way of a melody yet they nonetheless carry your interest. as an occasion 'The present' via The Velvet Underground. it is purely a spoken be conscious tale with a repetative bass line even nevertheless it is great. Is it music? i think of it somewhat is classed as music in that there are musicians enjoying a stay orginal score in the back of the narrator. As for rap, sampling sounds and a few fool mumbling approximately weapons and ho's?, according to threat not.

Academics aside college means usually being away from home and away from parents and free to think and do what you want without having you parents snooping in your room and finding out or word getting around the neighborhood and back to the rents. Which can usually bring out all those curiousities as well as give you opportunities and a willingness to fufill them.

College is the main time when people experiment, usually because they ended up getting drunk at a party. But at any age, any place, you can "experiment" and discover your sexuality.

usually ther eis some urge to experiment as early as juniour high and through high school. Howevver once one leaves the family nest and goes off to the college of their choice, they find more freedom to experiment more deeply.

You can know that you like girls, even though you have never experimented with one.
Just like how you know that you like boys even when you were little.
I knew what I liked even when I was four, but I hadn't ever kissed a boy before.
