passively, or did you pray and work to get yourself out of it? And when God raised you up again, what kind of spiritual and mental energy did you spend to regain your original state of grace? And for a learning experience, did you do the hard work of analyzing exactly why you went through this tough time? And if you did, what were your conclusions about the experience?

I think when I got bit by the rattlesnake it took me through some mind bending experiences. When you are such an independent individual you suddenly become aware of the need of others. It also enlightened me to the fact that sometimes we need to be "still" in the Lord. It makes you realize just because somebody is doing this or that doesn't mean it is your path......pause look around.......time to make a choice. I think I made the right one. God never turns his back on you, but he lets you come to terms with it.

Usually you have a dark night of the soul because no matter how much you pray, it does not lighten your burden. You cannot analyze why. For some reason, God lets us suffer in the darkness. He is there, but does not let us feel his presence.

Typically when we have a revelation or feel spiritually lifted, it is from Grace. Grace is a gift from God. As much as we would like to earn grace, it is only given to us, and cannot be gained by a series of acts.

Try reading some books about the Saints.

Also, you will probably get a lot of dumb responses to this because this website is filled with 13 year olds. So try to ignore the dumb comments. Oh, and the atheists will slam you too, but it does't matter. Keep searching for your answers.

I cried out for help! I prayed to God for deliverance, at the time I felt evil and knew I could not do it myself. I have returned from time to time near where the evil was but never have I felt it that strong since. I have felt that evil only twice in my life and I never want to again.
