Alright, you are tecnically NOT doing my homework if I understand it. kso:

"Nicolai said that 6 billion can represent the volume of a cube. How many units long is the cube, how do you know?"

I'm not stupid, but don't use your big big words, because no one understand them.
pls and thx!

The volume of a cube is equal to the height times the width times the length.
Since a cube has all 3 dimensions exactly the same (that's the definition of a cube), then all you have to do is find out what number multiplied by itself 3 times is 6 billion.
Its called the "cube root".

It is a cubic root problem since the volume of a cube is found by multiplying three equal sides.

In other words, what times itself 3 times is 6 billion?

The cube root of a billion is a thousand. The cube root of 6 is 1.81712, so the length of a side is 1817.12 units.

Who's Nicolai?

Volume of a "box" is height * width * length. In a cube, all three are the same value so the volume of a cube is

volume = length*length*length = length^3

Since you have volume (6 billion) then length is just the cubed root of volume.

For 6000000000 this is 1817.120593

you get the cube root of 6 billion..
since volume is equal to lengtth x width x height, and in a cube length, width and height r the same.. then
volume= side(to the power, or exponent) 3
what is the number u multiply 3 times by itself to get 6 billion??
6 000 000 000= a really dont know:P sorry.. but that's pretty much how u solve it.. the answer is a decimal.. but i can say its 1817.12

Actually smart people understand big big words.

V = x * x * x = x^3
6 x 10^9 = x^3
x = (6 x 10^9)^(1/3)
x = 1817.12

Yay I'm smarter than an 8th grader.
