Does anyone know what kind of paints Ralph McQuarrie used to create his Star Wars artwork? I'm an artist and I can almost always tell what a piece of artwork was done in by looking at it, but with his art I can't figure it out. It looks like oil or acrylic in some ways, but also seems to have some characteristics of watercolor. Also, there's so many perfectly strait lines and clean, hard edges. How does he get those with a paint brush?

Hi! Why don't you ask him? I bet he'll be thrilled that you're so interested... and flattered. He's retired now. He wouldn't post his address if he didn't want to hear from his public! In his Frequently Asked Questions column it says:
Q: Does Ralph read his email?
A: While Ralph is not a computer user himself, we do bring him copies of the email sent to the site about once a month.

lol, a celebrity wars fan says that celebrity trek is unrealistic? Anyway there may be struggle of varieties among the 2. I have no idea when you ski or snowboard, however the dynamic is identical. Personally I love each, however Star Trek quite is far higher. The technological know-how, characters, and reviews plausible. It depicts a long term society that has appreciably advanced (socially) from in these days. Star Wars is a laugh, however its mystical and the applied sciences haven't any groundwork sincerely. Star Wars is extra like "This could be cool" while Star Trek is extra alongside the traces of "How could this paintings". I might cross on, however I'll spare you
