I love them! But I always worry about inflation and if the price will go up. (No kidding).

I hate them for the most part cause they are too cheap (product wise). But they are good for somethings.

These are okay. But you need to buy what you need. I will always check the manufacturer's country of origin as some items are low quality and may have chemical compounds that are not good for your health. just use what you really need and when you have saved plenty, go buy yourself a higher quality items that can last you for as long as you need to...

If you need to save do the following:

save 3 months of your household income as our recommendation. But to get to this point you need to payoff all high interest rate credits first. Then save as much as you can to payoff all bills with higher interest than what you collect from your Cd's. Your only main interest should be on a homeowner mortgages that are tax deductible (not all are!!!)

The fact is you need insurance against all your unforeseen accidental expenses or we call it self insurance... We have many other ways to correctly setup your income vs. expenses and justify savings... You can visit these people:

I wonder about that too. I like 99 cent stores for when I'm in a pinch.

Eventually, I think the price will either go up, or the products will become increasingly crappy. Soon they might just sell rubber bands and gum.

omg! i love the dollar store!!! I buy all kinds of stuff from them! I'll buy a gallon of brand name bottle water for a buck and go to another regular store and they are asking for $2+tax! I buy my Comet and dish soap and cat food and kitty litter and tooth paste, and Halloween decorations, gift bags and tissue paper, toy's for my little cousins, all kinds of stuff! The dollar store rocks!! I can go in with $20 and feel rich! we have a good one here where you can get good fresh veggies like 2 big bunches of asparagus for a dollar!

While they might have some bargains, a lot of the stuff is just junk.

Some things, like cleaning supplies, are actually less than a dollar at regular stores. So you should really know what your picking up.

I love them. All you have to watch out for is if the namebrand package is a little too small to be a good value. How great that you can actually plan your spending... My daughter goes shopping there (a student) and knows ahead of time if she can afford 10 things or 20 things... without having to stress out at the checkstand! And christmas is a blast with all the little goodies you can toss in...

I hear you, It's actually more likely you'll also have safer toys and foods than that of a money tycoon like wal-mart or cosco; where china and whatever other countries are screwing up our stuff. In most general dollar stores it's us made, or highly certified. Check the back of stuff, you'd be surprised.

I love the dollar stores. Sometimes the stuff that you get there is just as good as the more expensive stores. Like diaper rash medicine and stuff like that.

Think instead about value for your money. If you always want to pay a fixed amount for something, over time, the quality of the item will naturally decline, if you can still get it at all for that price.

Well they were fine till the lead paint in so many things from China came out. And lead poisoning affects us so deeply with horrible effects. Think twice about dollar stores.
