Many obese people spend more on junk food than health insurance would cost. Why should hard working taxpayers pay for dietary conditions for future Springer guests. Thyroid and diabetes issues causing weight problems are a bit different. Omitting diet soda is very effective at losing weight.
Processed foods, junk foods, sugar, and most sugar substitutes especially aspertame are all primary factors in weight and health related problems. Look up aspertame and read the research while setting aside the bag of chips, 6 pack, and cheesecake.

Probably, it is considered a medical condition now. I'm more concerned about having to pay for coverage of illegals than those that eat too much.

EDIT: Forgive me...not all obesity is caused by eating too much...there are thyroid conditions that cause it, certain medications, etc. I didn't mean to sound that way.

Yes, why wouldn't it? Many medical conditions are the result of poor lifestyle, not just obesity.
