True. I've been bipolar for 8 years, and still haven't found the right medication for me. The ones I have tried end up giving me horrible side effects and brain zaps the entire duration of my diagnosis.

I have many ups and downs, one minute I'll be happy and jumpy, and if you look at me cross eyed I'll bawl my eyes out and start screaming for no apparent reason. No one understand what it's like to be in my position unless they are in fact bipolar. But none of my family or friends are. When I have my manic episodes they don't know what to do or say. Because they've never grown up with it, and they don't know how to react.

I'm still working on trying to find another medication that isn't going to negatively affect my life. I still have manic episodes, about thrice a month.

G m :p

It's true for me, I was diagnosed around 11 or 12 I think and I've mean through stupid prozac and lithium which doesn't work and fluoxitine ( sp? ) which I've been on the longest and only recently come off because the effects have worn off and my bi-polar has been in submission ever since.

Tinker: Manic and Bi-polar are the same thing actually.

False, I teeter on returning to the state of depression. I was never bipolar, because I've never been manic [extreme highs].
