By themselves, they are not funny. I can make some serious statements including the words "butt" or "fart" and do not expect anyone to laugh. Most of the time though, I do use them for comical effect, although not in the purely nonsensical way that you do. :-)
If you want potty words, here's something for you to do: search YouTube for "The Thick of It" + "iPod Rant". I discovered this just yesterday. "The Thick of It" is a British comedy programme about a government minister and his entourage. The best part is the foul-mouthed Scotsman, Malcolm Turner, who is the PM's media consultant, but actually seems to be running everything. Anyway, the iPod Rant is one of Turner's gems. Dunno why, but the swearing Scot is just hilarious.

Yes, "fart" is a funny and fun word to say but, "butt" just sounds like an ordinary descrption for one's rear end. I think "fanny" sounds much funnier than "butt". For instance, say someone is smoking and doesn't put their cigarette out completely and you respond with "Put out that butt!" or "Put out that fanny!" See how much funnier "fanny" is than "butt"?
