I think it is an honor to be called "bisdak" which in full text is: bisayang daku and which means big cebuano or true cebuano. To some, it may sound provincial or "probinsyano" but it is not something to be ashamed of. If you truly are a "dakong bisaya", flaunt it. Remember that the first Filipino hero is Lapulapu, a Cebuano, who killed Magellan long before there was an Andres Bonifacio, or an Apolinario Mabini or a Jose Rizal.

it depends on the context. the term bisdak is also sometimes said within the context of unrefined:
"bisdak kaayo, gihimong toothpick and tinidor!"

as for the general expression, it makes me proud of my unique heritage. unlike others who have lost their regional identity. by the way, cebuanos are known for being very regionalistic, do you agree?

Bisayang Daku. BISDAK.

I am Tagalog but I have a lot of Bisdak friends. Some are coming to party with me this weekend.

haha..I used to have a weird identity crisis. when i'm in Iloilo they call me Bisaya. When I am in Leyte/Cebu, they call me Ilonggo.

Either way I'm proud to be Cebuana and Ilonggo =D
