I like it. I think it's a pretty name, and chances of her running into another kid in school with the same name is slim to none. Plus! It's unique, but not weird. And it's obvious how you want it pronounced as well. People will be able to say it easily, and the whole name just flows well together.

Great job!! That's a name any little girl would be proud to have.

I like Shaylee a lot, but I would spell it Shaileigh. My friends twelve year old's name is Shailee and she says that she wishes it didn't have a double 'e' because everyone says it looks masculine.

My name is Alexis Hailee and to be honest I totally despise the name Alexis. I does not fit me at all, so once I decided to go by my middle name and I don't really like the spelling.

In my opinion you should make it Shaileigh Jazmine Brown. That way when she's an adult she has an equally beautiful middle name just in case her feelings on Shaylee aren't the same as yours. I think that Shaileigh Jazmine sounds absolutely lyrical.

But in the end this is your child and the decision is yours. Shaylee is a beautiful name no matter how you spell it, I just think you should rethink the middle name. I hope that helps.

Much Love,
Alexis

Well Brown is quite a common last name so its great that your thinking of Shaylee.

Shaylee is so unique and sweet. And at the moment unique names are becoming very fashionable.

So most likely her generation will all have adorable names so she will fit in and not feel embarrassed about having a different name too other kids but most likely be the only Shaylee in her class. Its good your not naming her Brittany or Jessica or Emma because in every school there's about 7 of each.

i have had to grow up with a unusual name and have only met 2 other girls with the same name.
but now I'm hearing of many babies being given my name.

its a lovely name and Shaylee Marie Brown fits together perfectly.
Hope this helps.

Hi

I LOVE that name...especially the spelling of Shaylee...(it is easy)...Teachers will thank you...It sounds sweet (reminds me of a flower). It is tender sounding and very feminine. It sounds delicate.

Shaylee is pretty popular these days..but have strange spellings as well...(I like yours!) These are some of the spellings I have seen..which make trying to pronounce them correctly-quickly almost impossible. How many times does a teacher say a preschoolers name...LOTS....it would be nice to set the teacher up for success on a name...lol

ie. (all pronouned Shaylee)
shealea
sheaylee
shealees
shaale
shyleea (pronouced shaylee) I tend to pronouce it shy-lee-a (short vowel)
sheelea
sheelee

Shaylee is okay.

Marie is wonderful.

Since Brown is a pretty common last name, an usual name such as Shaylee is a great idea. It's not my favorite name, but it does have a nice ring to it.

I like your spelling of Shaylee. If you spelled it differently, like S-H-A-Y-L-E-I-G-H, it would be okay too, but it's very similar to the name Hayleigh.

Good job and good luck!

Shaylee is cute! But Marie is too plain! Try Shaylee Autumn
Shaylee Maureen

I like Shaylee but Marie is too overused. I was also going to suggest Shayla as I see someone else did too. Good luck.

No. I think it would be a constant battle to have that name. She would either have to spell or pronounce it to everyone. Keep it simple.

Here are some others you may consider.
Whitney Marie Brown
Kelsey Marie Brown
Lindsey Marie Brown

I don't like it, but it's not the names themselves, if that makes sense. Without trying to be rude ...

1. I simply prefer names with more history, and Shaylee is a recently created "name" stemming simply from the masculine name Shea (though misspelled) and popular -lee sound suffix.

2. Thanks to that -lee ending sound and the basic sound of Shea (Shay), this only manages to blend in with all the other rhyming names currently trendy -- Kaylee, Haylee, Jaylee, Maylee, Baylee, etc. (just using those misspellings to show the similarity).

Hopefully that explained my reasons for disliking in an informative, rather than purposefully rude, manner. ;) I assure you, I mean it to be helpful. Good luck!
