We are wearing jackets and yet we are shaking !!!
its so damn freezing in the middle schools, high schools everywhere!!! why???
do they want to freeze our brains and keep us numb so that we wont be so hyper????

Are you kidding, most of the classrooms in my school don't have air conditioning at all (on a count of our school can't afford them), some are actually hot in fall and still have fans running. And try being there in the beginning (and end) of the school year; 95 degree weather, 98% humidity, no ventilation, 1,500 bodies crowded into hot/stale classrooms. I wouldn't complain if I were you.

I heard is because they believe it will keep the students awake...
Well I'm African. I need heat. If anything the cold will drain my energy and make me fall asleep. Air-conditioning MAKES people sleepy. If it's a nice warm temperature in the school, students wouldn't fall asleep...

Schools are kept cold in the Fall for the same reason that mountain roads have signs that say "Icy when wet" in the Summer months!

Like most public buildings, they keep them cool because in many parts of the country it's still warm during the day and the temp is hard to control. If they turned it off, you'd be hot.

A lot of kids wear their hooded sweatshirts and their jeans in school because it is cold there. Kids also wear their long sleeve shirts and their scarves, and their UGG Boots to keep them warm and comfortable in school

Idk. Maybe to keep you awake during class? Or so you'll stay in appropriate clothing? Warm temperaturs will force you to wear less clothing, so they make it cold so you won't do that.
Our school doesn't do that. Some rooms are kinda cold, but most are so freaking warm.
