After Japan bombed Pearl Harbor it was obvious that the US would go to war with Japan. However, because of an earlier agreement between Japan, Germany and Italy, in which these countries agreed to support each other, Hitler declared war on the US. So it was Germany who first declared war on the US.

Germany, but they weren't required to by the terms of their alliance with Japan, they were only required to declare war on a country which attacked Japan. It was a huge mistake on Hitler's part.

Actually, Japan declared war on us by bombing Pearl Harbor, that got us to fight the Nazis and Japan... So we really didnt declare war on them and they the nazis didnt declare war on us, eventhough they did ask Mexico to go to war with us...
