Oh yes, we'll include novellas in this also. I had a definite favourite in mind, but all the answers so far are making me unsure!

I'm not sure if it was called this but the boogey man one was really good I thought. I liked 'the raft' too but not the film version so much (in creepshow 2). Saw 1408 and thought it was really great but haven't read the story yet.

I liked the Long Walk and the Running Man (much much better than the film). There was also one set in the future about a family moving to another planet, a long way away and having to be sedated or put into suspended animation or something before going. I vaguely remember it but I remember I really enjoyed that one at the time. Don't remember what it was called though.

I loved The Long Walk (guy walks with others and the last one standing wins a wish) and Rage (about a student who takes his class hostage) both written under the name Richard Bachman.

I really liked Rage, it's a shame that Stephen King won't re-release the book anymore. It's going to stay out of print. He did have a good reason though, just sucks cause I liked the story.

OO! I just bought Thinner today!

Not too partial to the short stories actually, but if I had to choose I'd pick Autopsy Room Four or 1408.

Favorite book, or novella I should say, is The Body aka Stand By Me.

I have loads of Stephen King books, (nearly all of them in fact), but so far I've only read one short stories book which was Night Shift so I'm not really sure which is my favourite short story.

However, I do know what my favourite Stephen King book is, so far and thats got to be Pet Sematary!

Definitely 'Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption'. Not only is it an excellent story, but probably the only Stephen King film adaptation that's as good as the original story!

My favorite would have to be three-way tie between The Road Virus Heads North, 1408 (both from the collection Everything's Eventual), and Jerusalem's Lot (Night Shift). I like all of them so far, and The Man in the Black Suit is also a great one. It's so hard to choose. 1408 would be my choice if I had to choose just one.

i think it was called 'the island', where a doctor is stranded on a island that is little more than a rock with a few medical supplies, and he eventually has to begin to eat himself.....

if this is my favourite its not by much, i love his shorts stories. T he Langoliers was awesome for me too, as i had no idea of the story, and began reading it in the airport departure lounge before my first flight, it heightened my imagination of the story somewhat , and also my nerves:)
