how could you change the exsisting law of lethal injections-death penalty?

First of all, we do have a death penalty, but not a death by torture penalty.

How would I change the law? First I would make sure that people know the facts about the way the death penalty system is actually implemented. I would want people to know about costs. (The death penalty costs much more than life without parole, mostly because of the legal process, which is supposed to prevent executions of innocent people.)

I would want people to know about the 124 wrongfully convicted people on death row, who fortunately were released.

I would want people to know why the legal process can take a long time. (Of the 124 people on death row who were shown to be wrongfully convicted, over 50 had already served more than a decade. If the process is speeded up we will certainly execute innocent people, something that most of us don't want.) I would want people to know about life without parole (available in 48 states and it means what it says at a fraction of the cost of the death penalty.)

It is critical to make laws or change them with the hard facts.
Based on what I know, I would make life without parole the sentence for the most serious crimes.

Make it more in line for them to suffer equivalent to those they hurt or killed.

Why should a person that committed a horrible crime against another human being be given the luxury of a peaceful death.

Oh, and it should be broadcast on all of the networks as the guy is raped up the a-s-s and beat to death. then the death penalty would be a deterrent

What is your problem w/ it? Do you want to continue paying taxes for someone that has committed heinous murder & will never again see the light of a free sun?

I sure as hell don't. Death penalty all the way! (yes, i am a Texan.)

Valley, I kinda agree w/ the murder aspect, but HELL-NO for rape. What about the girls that claim it, because they changed their minds in the act or felt bad about it later? Is that the guys fault? I knew a dude (not me) that was charged a year later, because her husband found out she had been in a drunken gang bang while he was TDY.

I actually like the Chinese method. They put a bullet though your head and bill your family for the bullet. If the death penalty is justified, there is not such thing as 'cruel and unusual'.

make it mandatory after the defendant looses the 1st appeal for anyone convicted of rape or murder.
