I currently live in Louisville, KY and would like to get into doing voice over work for commercials and things like that and would love to eventually get into doing voice acting for animated programs. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

This a very competitive field. You need to find a reputable agent and get into a position to work on the East or West coasts. While it is true that many established stage a screen actors do voice over work, it is an aspect of acting that is more accessible the "in front of the camera/on stage" acting that is more commonly sought. Also, look in VARIETY the entertaiment trade paper.

most voice over is done by established actors whose voices the audience is likely to recognize. watch for voice over workshops at the local acting schools, take them, and when you are ready make a demo tape and send it to agents requesting they represent you for voice over.
