The Grass is Singing, by Doris Lessing. Although that was when I was in school - I've read it since and actually appreciate it.

"silent spring" by rachel carson

the only reason why i remember that book and the author.
because it is thee most BORING-IST book i ever had to read.
it's so boring i suggest you should go check it out to see how boring it is. i mean i love books reading rules but this one. oh jesus.. yyaaawwn
