Who knows the exact specific name of the line that is shaped like a stair case in the Periodic Table of Elements? I'm not looking for the name of the elements that are near it but the actual name for the staircase itself. Thanks

That line divides the metals from non-metals in the periodic table; I don't know if it has a specific name however.

It is simply a dividing line between metals and non metals. The elements along the staircase are called semi-metals or metalloids.

Funny though, I was thinking of Led Zeppelin and Stairway to Heaven when i read your question.
