I say definitely. No . An age appropriate party is the best You want to boost her confidence I don't think that is the way to do it. She probably wants the lingerie for her BF ( she might have one and doesn't want you to know) Ask her the reasons why . and then maybe you can do a party like this when she is much older. I personally would not have one at all I think it is just asking for trouble on so many different levels. Sure she may be mad that you say no but you are the parent and a 16 yea old girl has no business being there

Please, don't do that. My brother's Birthday is December 28. It was awful for me to watch relatives and friends tell him "This is your Christmas and Birthday gift". He and I always felt he wasn't being treated fairly by the family. And the worse part was our Mother never stood up and told anyone his birthday and Christmas were two separate events. He would be sad for days and not look forward to his next Birthday.
