I was doing some research it I found that many radical feminists claim to be against BDSM for women saying it degrades them and shames them as women. Others argue that whatever one chooses to do in their bedroom is one's own business and there is nothing wrong with it unless both parties involved consent to it.

I don't understand why feminists are supposedly against BDSM.

Feminists are only against BDSM when one of the partners isn't really into it. The movie 9 1/2 Weeks is a pretty good example of this. I say that it's OK to do whatever you want in the bedroom as long as it isn't excessively painful.

I like movies with lots of explosions . . . action films. That doesn't mean, though, that I would ever want something to blow up in real life or that I would ever wish such mayhem on others. Same with sex. Sexual fantasies are absolutely healthy. Just because I might enjoy an evening of D/S as a sub, does not mean that I believe submissiveness is appropriate or healthy in real life for men or women. People who have problems keeping fantasy and reality seperated are usually pre-adolescent thinkers. Concrete stage of cognitive development. And, I have never heard of educated feminists, men or women, who have made any statement associating bedroom fantasies with reality. That sounds more like pre-sexual troll mentality.

Interesting... I've never heard that before. I fail to see how any consensual sex is degrading from a feminist, pro-woman perspective. I can only speak for myself, but as a feminist, I'm not anti-bdsm whatsoever. Whatever floats your boat.

Most feminists I know, including myself, are pro-choice in all ways.. Meaning, if a woman wants to get into BDSM, it's her business.

I'm not opposed to it at all. Whatever one does between two CONSENTING Adults is one's own business.
