1. #1 LSU @ home vs #9 Florida - It'll be close!! Who ever has the ball last will fail to score and lose. Pick 'em.
2. #15 Virginia Tech @ #22 Clemsen - Clemsens's pass defense against a freshman QB will be the difference in this mild upset
3. #24 Kansas St @ home vs Kansas - Kansas with a decent game on both sides of the ball will burst State's bubble by at least 14 points
4. #8 Kentucky @ #11 So. Carolina - Home field advantage will be the difference as SC squeaks by.
5. #5 Wisconsin @ Illinois - Wisconsin has been lacking a strong defense against the run. Illinois has a very good running game and it will be the difference by 6 points
6. #20 Cincinnati @ #21 Rutgers - Who ever wins cannot really be considered an upset so I'll go with Rutgers who has the home field and is looking to revenge last years loss.

Thx to y'all who pointed out that my so-called "upsets" can't be because I picked the favorites. I made the error of assuming that the higher ranked team would be favored but, alas, that ain't necessarily the case, is it?

Next Thursday, I'll make sure to check the spread before picking my upsets and "too tough to call" games.

Meanwhile, it looks like So. Carolina did a lot more than just squeak by Kentucky. My congrats to you SC fans.

Nathan... Went to your blog and your pick of SC over Kentucky was nearly perfect. I was impressed with your analysis as well. I'll put your blog address in my favorites and will check it out on a weekly basis during the season.

most of those game wont be considered upsets.

LSU will NOT lose to Florida, seriously lol. Florida lost to Auburn who uses the same defense schemes as LSU. Except LSU's defense is faster and more experienced. LSU will win by at least 17 (LSU Favored by 8.5)

Clemson will beat VT by a touchdown or 2. But not an upset since Clemson is favored to win anyways by 5.5

K-State showed what they can do, and K-State can bring it if they decide to show up, I believe they will run over KS... expect them to win by double digits.

SC is Favored to win anyways, no upset here as SC wins by 11 or more (SC favored by 3.5)

Illinois is going to pound Wisconsin easily. Wisconsin has been barely winning against teams who cant even get to to .500% records. But guess what, not an upset when IL wins by 2 TD's, they are favored by 3pts anyways.

Wrong on Rutgers also. they are favored by 3.5... but Cinci will bring the pressure and win by a score in a close one. And get the Upset

Illinois is only a 2 1/2-point favorite over Wisconsin, not a 7.

South Carolina is leading Kentucky at the moment, but this is far from over.

Florida keeps close with LSU, and I think LSU's offense gets exposed a bit this week. Gators by 3.

Clemson over Tech, Kansas State over Kansas, Illinois to beat Wisconsin, and Cincinnati over Rutgers.

A couple games you forgot - Oklahoma big over Texas, and Ohio State wins a squeaker at Purdue.

Oh, and 0-6 for Notre Dame.

You're already wrong about #4...Kentucky never had a chance against SC.

Illinois will win but only by 6 or less... Cincinnati will beat Rutgers hands down....and Clemson will bounce back from the embarrassing lose to Georgia Tech the week before.

Just so you know, Illinois over Wsconsin isn't an upset. Illinois are 7-point favorites.

Most of what you say appears valid. I do think your LSU/ Florida pick is a bit weak. I will go with Florida as I don't think they will allow themselves to lose two in a row.
