the show Dot Matrix (i'm prety sure that was the name)

all the people were blue adn they lived inside a computer in a city on the motherboard. later in the series the main chara dies adn his son grows up and changes his name to something really manly and looks like a 70's action movie thug.

i miss that show it was on toonami back in the day before they got rid of the first Tom (the one who was chubby, lol chubby robots)

That show was called ReBoot... (one of the characters, the girl, was named Dot Matrix)

The main character was Bob and the boy was not his son but just another character, related to Dot (her brother I think)... the boy idolized Bob and wanted to be just like him. He changed and become more angry when he grew up.

Reboot is the name of the show, produced by Mainframe animation (now a part of Rainmaker).

I'm pretty sure you can get the series on DVD, and there was a final season (Season 5, IIRC) where the loose ends of the show are tied up. Incidentally, Enzo (the boy) was Dot's little brother, not Bob's (the main character) son.

I think you are talking about Reboot: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ReBoot . There was Dot Matrix in the series though, so you weren't too far off track.

I miss this series as well. At first I hated it. Then I thought it was just plain weird. But it steadily grew on me, and I ended up enjoying the weirdness to a great extent.

Dot Matrix was voted one of the fifty hottest toons of all time in the Thighs Wide Shut on line survey.

You can find out more about them on Toonopedia.
