I have a brand new computer that I bought from Best Buy, since the first time I turned it on, it's been really slow even when I'm just opening things like "my computer" or "my documents" compared to my old computer which is 10x faster.. Its a E-Machines T3616...If I add more RAM to it, will it make it faster?
What kind of RAM should I be looking for?

every time you buy a prebuilt machine its going to have so much useless software installed. Best bet is to get a copy of which ever OS you like and do a fresh format.

Depends on the other specs of the machine, you just bought it so I presume its a C2D with 1GB of RAM... Can you provide more details?

RAM is always good for computers.

go to this site, have it scan your system. Pay no attention to the RAM for sale, its just to get the speed and type of your memory... Write it down, then go to a place and pick up another GB or w.e is allowed

I in many cases propose 2gb of ram the place achieveable in any case to human beings, observing the way you utilize the device the overall performance income would be distinctive, in case you frequently artwork with a great form of classes open or with great data or play video games then specific 2gb will help plenty in case you artwork with in straightforward terms small classes/data then no it wont make plenty distinction. undergo in innovations homestead windows eats between 500-seven hundred mb which includes your drivers and different junk so which you will in straightforward terms have approximately 300mb unfastened with 1gb frequently after booting including 1gb will develop this to approximately 1300 mb unfastened which = much less replace record utilization which skill a much extra responsive laptop. the different attention is in the adventure that your laptop helps twin channel reminiscence and you in straightforward terms at present have a single 1gb stick then a 2d 1gb stick will effectively double your reminiscence potential and bandwidth which provide you an excellent overall performance income with reminiscence in intensity purposes. What others are announcing is genuine in case you run a 32 bit version of homestead windows there is little evaluate including extra effective than 4gb of reminiscence because it is going to in straightforward terms understand the 1st ~3gb (relies upon on photographs card and different hardware) So in lead to case you like a great form of issues open or use your pc for something remotely reminiscence in intensity then pass with the 2gb or in the adventure that your noticing the hdd is working non end this could help
