I have a 1988 honda prelude si and the fuse pops when i accelerate like i'm going to pass someone, the fuse just pops, it does it when i accelerate too fast in reverse to. but when i just start driving like normal it is fine.

Either wire has rubbed thru or your alternator is over charging. 20 year old car can have any number of short circuits. Main fuse 80 or 100 amp is from the alternator so check that wire first or make your own from the battery to alternator disconnect the big alternator factory wire tempoary wire to both alt and battery see if works.

Your motor mounts might be cracked. They not holding the motor in place and is therefore shifting the motor as you accelerate hard and it is grounding a wire. Check your motor mounts first and then for any frayed wires.
