We had dated only 5 weeks, but "just knew" we were meant for each other. I picked her up after work at midnight. She was a nurse and had a very bad day. Lost several patients. She didn't even want to go out, just wanted me to take her home. I talked her into getting takeout and going back to my place. She spilled an entire plate of Italian food on her blouse and skirt. Went into bathroom to rinse it out and left it in bathtub to soak and put on one of my shirts. I was still wiping up marinara sauce off the couch and carpet when she came out. She started crying, I told her we would just share my plate. She said something about me being soooo sweet to her then said, "I'm ready to get married, how about you?" I said, "Yeah, I guess so." She said, "Is that all you have to say about it?" I replayed the scene in my mind and asked, "Was that a proposal?" "Yeah, I guess it was." "Well why didn't you say so?" She said, "Will you marry me?" I got up and kissed her and said "Yes." We got married 2 days later, on the beach, at sunrise, with our friends, flowers, and a gallon of Ripple wine. That was 41 wonderful (mostly) yrs ago.

He didn't. I brought up that we should get married, he agreed and we started planning a wedding. The proposal is just a romantic game which distracts from the reality of marriage and the gravity of the decision.

He didn't. We were on the verge of a breakup (due to my being a distant, unavailable girlfriend) and he gave me an ultimatum: Either be more vested in our relationship and agree to marry within the year, or we were done. I accepted and held up my end of the bargain. Every now and then, I tell him how glad I am he made me marry him.

I had been out on the East Coast on vacation. He came out to join me a week later. i didnt know but he had bought the ring and got all of the stuff planned before he flew out to meet me. we flew back together to LA. when we got to the airport he had my sister meet us there. she had my dog, all groomed and dressed up, and the ring was tied to the dog's dress with an engraved dog collar that said "Will you marry me?" Then he got down on one knee and proprosed. Then he had a limo come and pick us up with my favorite champagne and everything. he had my sis' boyfriend videotape it. it was very sweet.

We went on a mini vacation. As soon as we got to the city, he took me to a waterfall park. We were sitting on a park bench, and he decided to carve our names on the bench. Then he got down on one knee, told me I was the love of his life, and popped the question. I was so shocked that he had to repeat the question!

he didn't he just moved in and 2 years later we were married.
