No, Halloween is not an evil holiday. It is the day before All Saints Day. Halloween was actually called all hallows eve. Which translates to all spirits eve. The costumes, Jack o lanterns and such were used to scare away "evil spirits". It has since turned into a holiday where adults can "dress up" and act like kids, and kids can dress up as their "hero". How can that be considered evil?

Halloween was originally on May13th Julian calander. It was a Church liturgical feast. commemerating and venerating the memory of people judged to have holy lives and enterd into Heaven.
However, the Celtic world particularly in Ireland, well into the middle ages observed Samhain,Nov 1st as an auspicious day, when the old year died and in it's transition to a New year;, a time of transition allowed the "underworld" (not necessarily regarded as evil) to slip thru into temporality. This would allow
mischievous forces to.. well.. do mischieve. One of the great mischieve makers was THE PÃCA (pooka)
This Pooka was not malicious but say "trick or treat" like.
"Puca" word derives from the Irish Gaelic "Poc" meaning "male goat"..and Shakespeare delves Irish mythology for satyr PUCK in Midsummer Nights Dream.
Now the Roman church pre Synod of Whitby, found The Celtic Christian Church , needed a counter emphasis on what was essentially a Pagan observace of Death.... so if you can,t beat Pagan custom, why not obfuscate it..like declaring All Saints Day be transferred from May 13th to Samhain for the universal Christian Church
So you might deduct that Halloween far from being evil is "Super Saintly".. But Then the American Irish got commercial
Ironically, here where I live in Ireland . instead of the traditional Carved Turnip skull. the U.S Pumpkin takes over.. never has Pumpkind growing here.// but travels well!
I think Samhain , in moderation affords a little fun onlty to avoid the more goulish aspects.. Im not partial to "occult".oportunism.!!
Just mind the POOKA! Slà n

Well, it depends on what you DO on Halloween. If you just hand out candy or dress up or go to a party or go trick or treating or something then its just consdiered a really fun holiday. The only way it could be evil is if you like do spells and stuff.

It's not the least bit 'evil'. Originally, it was more like our Memorial Day. The "evil" bit was added by lies from another belief group.

I don't know, but coming rom my mom, well, you know ho there are always all those ghosts, and witches, and vampires, etc, everywhere? Well, she thinks it like a, ummm, devil worshiping thing. I always explain to her that actually, it was to ward of evil spirits, which she covers up by saying all the candy makes you FAT.
