I believe in "ladies first" and doors opened. And I believe the man is the "head of household" - if there is a man involved. I do think women should potray their strenghths and independence. But I think women should be feminine and men should be masculine. I just want to know who disagrees with me - I feel "old-school".

I mostly agree. I can even go for the man as the head of the household so long as the woman is the "neck" and can twist the head to point it in the right direction.

I believe we have progressed far enough that we can open doors for each other, since doors can be operated by both genders. A household stands better when decisions are shared. People be what they are. Feminine does not mean barefoot in front of a stove, in this modern world most families need both spouses employed to produce a comfortable lifestyle or if one spouse has an enormous income the other spouse probably has a degree going to waste. About masculinity I will quote Rumi "a lion is deadlier than I am, a rabbit will have more children and an elephant is stronger. Man was made to think." Reason is what makes a man not grease or muscle.

I agree with you but I also agree with one of the other answerers. . .I prefer people to be who they are. I don't "expect" anyone to be a certain. . that makes it a pleasant suprise when they do things that you like. . .such as being "head of household"
