I am 7 months pregnant and i am looking into birthcontrol options for after the baby comes i have always used the depo before but i just hate the affects of it. i talked to my Dr. about having the IUD but i dont actually know anyone who has used it before. I would like to know from people who have, can u still have sex, anyway and as much as you want, without it falling out, is it painful, etc?

I had the Mirena IUD inserted after my second child. I love it, and I highly recommend it.

It contains small doses of hormones, but they stay concentrated in the uterus. I had horrible side effects with Depo, but not with this. My only real side effect is no more periods. Gotta love that!

It is the most effective birth control on the market at 99.9% (even more effective than getting fixed). It is good for 5 years, too. You can still have sex. It would be completely against the point if you couldn't! In fact, you can be completely spontaneous. That is great! It won't fall out from sex, either. It is inserted into your uterus, so it is safe. You just need to check for the strings periodically to make sure it is still in place.

Insertion can be uncomfortable, but it usually isn't painful if you have already had a kid. Just take some ibuprofen ahead of time. You might notice a little cramping and spotting for a few days, too. That is completely normal. Totally worth it, too.

If you have any other questions, feel free to email me through my profile!

I had an IUD after the beginning of my twins, and it was once high-quality. It took lower than five mins to be positioned into position by way of my Ob/gyn. My durations had been quite mild & lasted handiest two to three days. I did not must fear approximately getting pregnant in any respect. I do admit that I eliminated my possess my possess (despite the fact that you're now not believe to). I pulled at the strings (kinda rough) and it got here out. It is rough to arrive, so I'd suggest now not to take action. When mine did pop out, I had a interval every week or so later, and my durations had been off a bit of. Either being a pair days early or past due. My IUD got here out in January, and I acquired pregnant in May. IUD's are the first-class alternative, and are very hindrance loose!
