Atomic mass of calcium is 40.078 g/Mol, and atomic mass of nitrogen is 14.0067 g/Mol. Hence 2.004g of calcium contains 0.05000 Mole calcium atom, and if the sample gains X grams, X/14.0067 must be the number of Moles of nitrogen atom. Since one kind of molecule always contains intergers number of Ca atom and N atom, the mole ratio of Ca to N must be an integer ratio.
The problem is your description of "the sample gains .4670 N". I would not deny that "N" or Newton is a unit for weight. 0.4670 N is 0.0476 kg of mass on earth's surface and is 47.6 grams. Are you sure this number is correct?
