So, why do people think all Muslims are terrorists just because of 19 people? I mean, what if 19 Christians come together and try to kill Muslims by planting a bomb in 4 different important buildings or crashing into 4 buildings with a plane? People would just accept it because they don't wanna mess with the largest religion in the world. And don't forget Islam is the 2nd largest religion and is growing faster than any other religion. You know why? Because some people actually study Islam and see that it's peaceful. Islam comes from the Arabic word salam, which means peace.

And also, ms scarlet It WAS 19 people. Are you out of your mind? Because my teacher said it was and i trust him more than u.

Unfortunately, when people feel fear, they need a target to put a face on what frightens them. There is nothing worse than the fear of the unknown. If you are sick and the doctors tell you they don't know what's wrong with you, it is far worse than having them tell you that you have diabetes or a diseased gall bladder. 9/11 really frightened the entire world, not just the US. All the good, peaceful, and law abiding Muslims in the world were probably just as frightened as all the other people in the world. They knew that since all the terrorists were Moslem, they would be blamed. They had seen it happen before and knew it would happen again. While individuals can and should learn from mistakes, society in general seems incapable of this.

Most people are so ignorant about the history of Islam and the religion itself, that they fear it automatically. Few of them know that while Christians were living in the Dark Ages, the Moslems had become extremely enlightened and developed modern math, high quality steel, and many other wonderful things. Most of them don't know that the numerals we use every day are called Arabic numerals for that very reason.

I chalk it up to what I call the ignorance and fear of the unknown cycle. People fear the unknown yet they refuse to learn anything about that which frightens them and so they become even more frightened. And unfortunately, our education system in the US is so primative by othercompared to other industrialized nations, it's not going to get any better any time soon. Look at what happened to the Japanese Americans during WWII.

I don't think all Muslims are terrorists. The Salafist Jihadists who carried out the attack on America were the Ku Klux Klan of Islam. When the KKK was going strong I didn't think all Protestants ran around in bed sheets either.

Where's the 9/11 question? Plastering Islam all over the question "Question about 9/11?" does not help educate people about Islam. Also Islam is the fastest growing religion according to statistics, statistics that will not include people who do not announce their spiritual/religious beliefs. I understand the political motivations of 9/11 and the difference between Islam and Al-Qaeda's perverse philosophy but you are not helping others get this by asking such a question.

I think,or at least I hope that people know being a Muslim does not mean they are automatically terrorists. We have a very large Muslim population in Pasadena and they pretty much stay to themselves and dont cause any problems. I also know some Muslim nurses who work at our hospital. What we all have to do is educate people who do think that all Muslims advocate violence. I know they dont and you know they dont,now we have to get the word out to everyone else.
