Start by factoring the denominators of the three rational expressions into (x-1)(x+1), x(x-1), and x(x+1). Now if you multiply both sides of the equation (each rational expression) by x(x-1)(x+1) and cancel out commont factors you will obtain an equation without fractions which will be easier to solve. Check that any solutions do not make any denominators in the original equation zero. Good luckk

x / x^2-1 - x+3 / x^2-x = -3 / x^2+x

Get the LCD, by factoring out the denominators:
x^2 - 1 = (x+1)(x-1)
x^2 - x = x(x-1)
x^2 + x = x(x+1)

From the above factors of the denominators, we can derive the LCD, which is : x(x-1)(x+1)

Multiply both sides of the equation by the LCD, x(x-1)(x+1), and use cancellation process:

x(x) - 3+x(x+1) = -3(x-1)
x^2 - (x^2 + 3x + 3 + x) = -3x + 1
x^2 - x^2 - 3x - 3 - x = -3x + 1
-4x - 3 = -3x + 1

Add 3x to both sides of the equation:
-x - 3 = 1

Add 3 to both sides of the equation:
-x = 4

Multiply both sides of the equation by -1
x = -4

I assume this means:
x / (x^2-1) - (x+3) / (x^2-x) = -3 / (x^2+x)
x / (x+1)(x-1) - (x+3) / x(x-1) = -3 / x(x+1)
multiply each term by x(x+1)(x-1)
x(x) - (x+3)(x+1) = -3(x-1)
x^2 - (x^2 +4x +3) = -3x + 3
-4x - 3 = -3x +3
-6 = x
check:
-6/35 + 3/42 = -3/30
-12/70 + 5/70 = -7/70 checks

x/(x^2-1) - (x+3)/(x^2-x) = -3/(x^2+x)

factorize denominators

x/(x+1)(x-1) - (x+3)/x(x-1) = -3/(x(x+1)

multiply with x((x+1)(x-1)

x^2 - (x+3)((x+1) = -3(x-1)

=>x^2 -(x^2 + 4x + 3) =-3x + 3

-4x - 3 = -3x + 3

add 3x

-x - 3 = 3

add 3

-x = 6

x = -6

The colon means ratio. you are able to interpret it as a branch sign. even with the shown fact that it seems less difficult to in elementary terms say density = mass / quantity you're given density and quantity, so remedy for mass. mass = density * quantity = (7.8 g/mL) * 220 mL = 1716 g
