How can I zip a large group of files separately?

I have a group of about 750 files and each file needs to be zipped individually. Is there a way to do it without having to do each one separately?

Sure. You write a little program, also called a script, that calls the zip program for each file.

The details depend on how you want to specify the files to be zipped (all the files in a particular directory, all the files created on a particular date, etc.); which machine or operating system you are using; etc.
