I always chuckle when you kids equate 'marriage' to just 'signing a piece of paper'.

Its not just a piece of paper, kids !

Its a very 'real' and 'total commitment' !!!

And all who think its just names on a paper are obviously too immature to get married anyway.

To the young adults of today : Tell your parents I think they really dropped the ball raiseing thier kids.

Simply put, what you have now is working. Why is it important to you to have a signed contract on paper. You don't need it to be truly happy.

How many married people do you know that are truly happy? Almost all married people I have met say degrading and embarrassing things about their spouses and then try to pass it off as humor.

Don't tamper with a loving and caring relationship. The change may not be for the good.

Sounds like he does love you but he isn't sure if you're the one . He is keeping his options open because he thinks that someone better may come along someday. I'm not trying to be mean, I'm just being honest

Don't try to figure him out. What you need to do is decide if you are willing to accept him for who he is, all character assets and defects included, or you want to move on.

Besides, what he is telling you is just a cop-out and easier than telling you, and/or himself the truth of the matter.

He may be scared of the committment and does not wish to make it until or if he is ready to do so. Be glad he doesn't want to rush into it; when it is right, he will do so.

I've it too. Fear of divorce. Fear of complication when divorce. Fear of being cheated. Fear of relationship between will altered like old mom and dad.

If you could find out what his fear... should do it.
